FISHING WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS

MOSQUITO LAGOON

Said Swabbie to papa and me:
"These fishes you've got to come see.
They'll jump in the boat -
Too many to float,
And fishing will fill you with glee."

The morning was frosty, too cold
For fishes to let me them hold.
We started at dawn,
Which made me to yawn,
And wonder if I was too old.

A seasick old dog was aboard,
And Jeffrey was silently bored.
The fish wouldn't bite.
What total bull-shite!
To skunking were we getting moored.

Birthdays are some tough fishing days.
The redfish we wanted to slay
Were out getting drunk
Off some Chinese junk
But still, we'd have chosen to stay.

Then off in the distance, a splash.
That school came near in a flash.
3 keepers we booked,
2 rats we unhooked,
The captain we couldn't now bash.

My mom said to me, "What is that?!"
I bit off the tail and I spat.
That shrimp gave a hiss.
So shocking was this
She looked like her pants she had shat.

In all, this trip was a blast.
I'd go back if I could, real fast.
Those fish will get burned
When next we return;
Our next trip we won't take half-assed.
